Success story
Teeth Whitening Treatment Success in Norwich
Before

After

A patient in his 30s visited Taverham Dental Health Clinic looking to refresh his smile. He was happy with the shape and alignment of his teeth but had become self-conscious about everyday staining and natural yellowing.
As enamel changes with age, the naturally yellowish dentine beneath can become more visible. Food and drinks such as coffee, black tea and red wine can also contribute to staining.
The patient wanted to explore a non-invasive way to lighten his teeth without changing their shape. After assessment, the team recommended dentist-supervised home whitening as a standalone treatment.
The process and results
- Initial assessment and digital scan. Digital scans of the upper and lower teeth were used to create custom-fitted whitening trays.
- Consultation and care plan. The team explained how the treatment worked, including gel application and oral hygiene.
- The treatment. For this patient, the clinician prescribed a 16% carbamide peroxide gel supplied by WhiteWash Laboratories. Whitening suitability and the treatment prescribed depend on clinical assessment.
- Follow-up. At the one-month review, the patient’s teeth were reported to be two shades lighter. He had wanted a subtle improvement and had achieved his desired result. The focus then moved to maintaining that shade with advice from the dental team.
