What are they?

Anti-wrinkle injections, often referred to as ‘Botox’ is a safe and minimally invasive treatment to improve and maintain the appearance of your skin. They work best as a preventative measure but will also significantly change the appearance of established lines and wrinkles.

Are they safe?

All injectables carry a degree of risk, therefore Anti-wrinkle injections and filler should only ever be administered by a healthcare professional (a Doctor, Nurse or Dentist). There are some side effects that are possible, our Dentists are expertly trained to help minimise the risk of complications, although are also well equipped to deal with them if they happen.

Some possible side effects:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Redness

How long will they last?

The results of these injections often last between 3 and 6 months, regular upkeep is likely to be needed to maintain the patients desired outcome.

Does it hurt?

No, anti-wrinkle injections should not cause any serious discomfort. You may experience a slight sting, like any other injection, however it should not be painful. The Dentist can also offer you a topical anaesthetic to help make the procedure more comfortable.

How long will it take to see results?

Usually, the patient will start to see results within the first couple of days, full results can be judged after 2-3 weeks. Often the dentist will request a follow up consultation, two weeks after the treatment, in this consultation you will be able to discuss your results.
